I purchased this mostly due to the claim on the bottle that it would "reduce excessive shedding by releasing the undercoat during the bath." Based on that sentence, I was expecting to see clumps of hair come go down the drain during the bath, making it easier to groom my dog since much of the loose undercoat would already have come out. I first used a regular dog shampoo, then rinsed and applied the conditioner. First, it doesn't lather well at all. I know conditioner isn't supposed to lather like soap, but the instructions state to "lather conditioner over entire body. I had to use a lot of conditioner to achieve this, probably 2 oz each time, which is 1/8 of the bottle. I left the "lather" on for 10 minutes (the instructions recommend 5-10 minutes). Anyone who has ever washed a dog knows how difficult it can be to have your dog sit still during a bath for an entire 10 minutes with you just sitting there.
