Received the waterer. The inside of the box had been contaminated with some sort of liquid or chemical so it smelled terrible. Cleaned everything out and it seems to be fine. The connection on the end is not a standard hose connection. We purchased the hose that was recommended by Amazon and even that did not connect. Still trying to find the correct connection. We will have to unmount the unit and take it to the hardware store just to match everything up and get it working. This is the perfect waterer for dogs. There are no plastic parts to rot in the sun/heat (or other weather), as other waterers have. It is very durable. This is the second we've owned; the prior lasted 8+ years with practically zero maintenance. The only downside is that we had to purchase a special adapter so that our hose could be connected (the hose and the waterer's connector are both "male" ends), but this was no big deal -- just ordered the needed part from Amazon and it was here in 2 days.
