I've bought two of these and they are not very durable after some pool play with my 50lb German Shorthair Pointer. All the amphibious Chuckit! toys come apart at the seems after only a few days of use. The boomerang is by far the least durable and splits very quickly along the inner seam. I would not recommend the boomerang and would instead recommend buying the Chuckit! This toy has been durable (my dog's not real hard on toys though, but still seems pretty sturdy material/quality overall) and the dog has enjoyed it for years without growing tired of it. She chooses it semi-frequently (she has a toy box and picks her own toy when we go out) and would probably chose it more often if it weren't for the fact that the rubber Chuck-it tennis balls outrank all other toys in her eyes so those are always first pick. :) Still she'll chose it and any time she chooses ANY other toy over the rubber tennis balls that's sayin' something! :) I would recommend pretty much any Chuck-it toy - my dog has enjoyed them all without ever growing bored of any of them. I don't know if I'd recommend this one for water just because it will lay flat on the water surface and may be hard for the dog to spot while swimming - if using for water I'd recommend the 'stick shaped' one made of the same material because it's more three dimensional. |
