We used it on our short haired pug who sheds A LOT. Although the brush works, it doesn't work anywhere near as well as advertised. The brush works about the same as any other.I have noticed that the reviews for the long hair brush are very high, so I am inclined to think it works better on those types of dogs. I bought this item as an alternative to the furminator for my boxer after reading reviews for it. It seemed to work and was cheaper so it seemed like a no brainer. Although my dog didn't seem to mind this brush, after a good 15 minute brushing and very little hair on the brush after I was disappointed. To add insult to injury the moment he was inside and was given a good belly rub and a treat for being so patient while being brushed, my floor had hair on it. So it's not like he doesn't shed...
